Paddle mixer comprises a high speed contra rotating twin shaft mixer with adjustable paddle tips. Paddles are arranged in spiral pattern for thorough mixing. Paddle tips are cast Ni-hard and adjustable in pitch to 15 degrees, 45 degrees and 75 degrees, in relation to shaft centreline, to give some control of mixing time. Paddles are also adjustable outward on arms to three positions for wear compensation.

Standard plant consists of:
- "In line" Four to six compartment cold feed section with wind shielded collection conveyor. Division plates between compartments prevent intermixing of materials between compartments.
- A vertical silo is provided for each fine component, with a fluidising system for consistant flow. A low silo level sensor, coupled to the control system warns of filler depreciation and shortfall in the mix. Silo "Infill systems" incorporate automatic controls and dust suppression.
- The liquid feed, water and additives is fully piped to the mixer with supply tank, pump, meter and quick close valves via the mixing bar with carefully selected spray nozzles. Delivery rate is interlocked to the cement and aggregate feed rates with automatic alarms to control water addition within close tolerances.
- All feeders, aggregate, fines and liquid are delivered using variable speed drives for accuracy within the plant capacity range.
- System control may be volumetric or mass feed upon the customers' preference and contract specification.
- A single compartment surge bin of up to 10 Tonne is mounted on a support structure under the pugmill.
