PAVING PLANT & PROCESSES (1988) LTD.
QUALITY - INGENUITY - COMMITMENT

COMPANY PROFILE

Paving Plant & Processes was established in New Zealand in 1973 to design, manufacture, and market the latest Drum Mix Asphalt Plants and equipment which were very successful in the USA. Through hard work and innovation the company soon became the major supplier in Australia, South East Asia and the Pacific region, of drum mixing plants, bitumen equipment and associated road construction machinery.

Because a significant part of the company's output was supplied to Australia, two Australian companies, Paving Plant & Processes Pty Ltd and Asphalt Equipment Pty Ltd, were established. These companies manufactured equipment for the Australian market and to date have successfully supplied over 40 plants to Australia.

In 1985 the company was purchased by a public listed investment company who wished to diversify.

The range of products was extended in 1986 with the purchase of the manufacturing rights for Technic Bitumen Sprayers. These sprayers range in size from 1,000 L capacity towed trailer sprayers to 10,000 L capacity truck mounted sprayers and became the basis for our current line.

By late 1986 it became apparent that the parent investment company's interests and expertise were not in tune with road construction equipmeent manufacturing. In 1987 a group of key employees purchased the business and restructured the company as Paving Plant & Processes (1988) Ltd. This included the re-establishment of the Australian based companies Paving Plant & Processes Pty Ltd (now Paving Plant (Aust) Pty Ltd) and Asphalt Equipment Pty Ltd which are based in Queensland.

During 1988 to 1993 we concentrated on refining the pollution control systems, developed new integrated plant control systems and built up our bitumen transport and handling section.

In 1996 we realised that the future of asphalt production in Australia and New Zealand lay in more modern and efficient plants which are capable of operating under the strictest pollution and safety requirements. After searching for a suitable partner we formed a partnership with Marini of Italy. Marini SPA which was formed in 1900, manufactures Batching and CounterFlow Drum Mix Plants as well as Paver/Finishers and other road construction equipment.

Since 1973 over 100 complete plants have been sold. These plants have been delivered to the governments of Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore and Korea, and to organisations in New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Brunei, Sabah, Singapore, Egypt, Wales, Ireland, China and the Pacific Islands. Paving Plant & Processes equipment has been used for the construction of airports, main roads and motorway projects as well as supplying the grocery trade markets.

Together, with our experience in the Pacific region and the Marini/Fayat Group experience worldwide we are able to supply the Asphalt Industry with some of the most up to date and efficient plant solutions available.
